About
FHAL is a boutique woman-owned contemporary architecture firm founded in 2014. Our focus is on residential and small commercial projects in the Ithaca/Finger Lakes region, encompassing ground-up designs, renovations, and advisory work.
The company name was inspired by its physical location (a renovated historic firehouse) and a passion for integrating unique and modern design aesthetics and materials.
Emily Petrina earned a Bachelor's of Architecture from Cornell University and a Master's of Architecture from Parsons, The New School for Design. She has a background in High-End Residential and Institutional work. Emily taught architecture design studios at Carnegie Mellon University while cultivating her interest in design-build education and practice.
